For Alex's birthday in April she got a Chia pet, but she saved it to plant in India. In September after our stuff arrived, she got it out. Keep in mind that our house was literally a hot house, but still, this thing grew like nothing we had ever seen before! I have always liked the Chia pet concept.
She planted it in the afternoon or evening and in the morning it had sprouted. Cool, we said.
This is the next day - coming along at the speed of light! Wow, we said.
Another day, and you could part the hair of this dog. Amazing, we said.
We went to Neemrana overnight and when we came back it had grown so much toward the window, and looked so crazy! Holy crap, we said! It was so fast! But then, it was REALLY hot and sunny, even inside the house. Our one complaint was that the hair was thin - next time she'll put the seeds on much thicker. Total life of the Chia this time around was 5 days, then she scraped it off and put it away for later.
I know, this really has nothing to do with sharing our experience here in India. But you gotta admit, Chia pets are cool!
